Welcome to Now Delish! I'm Madeeha, your baker, recipe developer, food stylist, and photographer here on this blog.
Baking has been a passion of mine since childhood. I spent countless hours in the kitchen, with my mom's recipe diary as my constant companion. Through her recipes, I honed my skills, learning to follow instructions and unraveling the science behind baking.
For me, the entire baking process is not just a culinary endeavor but also a deeply therapeutic experience. It continues to captivate and inspire me to this day!
Fun Fact
Baking has always been a serious affair for me. Whenever I found myself in the kitchen, fully engrossed in baking, my siblings knew better than to come near. Despite their offers to help, I'd often come up with amusing (lame actually) excuses to keep them at bay.
My favorite line? "Sorry, but you can't help right now. You see, stirring the cake batter requires a special direction."
To this day, my sisters love to tease me about the infamous "special direction." Haha - It's all in good fun!
How was 'Now Delish' Born?
This blog blossomed from my profound passion for food, especially baking. Despite my 9-to-5 job, you'll often find me in the kitchen, dedicating my time to baking.
My creations have garnered quite a following among friends and family, who frequently request my cakes and cookies. The increasing demand for recipes inspired me to document my culinary journey, featuring both my original creations and cherished recipes passed down from generations.
In addition to my own bakes, I also share authentic Pakistani recipes that I inherited from my mother, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of my upbringing. Be sure to try my ghee cake, nankhatai or cakerusk.
Behind each recipe shared on this blog lies a tale of trials and triumphs, marking the evolution of my culinary skills. I take great pride in every recipe you'll find here, and I hope they bring as much joy to your kitchen as they do to mine!

No, I haven't. I've acquired knowledge from my mom, friends, extensive travel experiences, and my extensive collection of baking and cooking books. I constantly experiment with recipes from these sources and have learned a great deal from them. In summary, I consider myself a self-taught baker and cook, lacking formal education in the field.
I am the photographer responsible for all the pictures on the blog, and I absolutely love it. The entire process, from arranging the food props to setting up the lights and capturing the images, is truly mesmerizing to me.
I utilize two Sony cameras for my photography: the primary Sony A7C camera for main shots and the secondary Sony ZV-1F camera for process shots. To illuminate my scenes, I rely on artificial light, specifically the Godox SL200 W II LED light. Additionally, I edit my pictures using Lightroom.

It's definitely not easy to manage a full-time job and run the Now Delish blog simultaneously. Both roles demand different skills, expectations, and goals, making it challenging to juggle between them. Feeling overwhelmed at times is completely natural. However, I'm incredibly grateful to have these talents and opportunities. Journalism is my passion, and baking is my love. I can't imagine doing anything else in life!
That's an intriguing question! The majority of my food prop collection comes from thrift stores, as I find the items there to be truly unique and priceless. I also enjoy scouring online stores for old and antique utensils. Occasionally, I can't resist picking up pieces from regular retail stores as well (regardless of the price tags). In short, I have a weakness for fine crockery and can't resist adding to my collection whenever I find something special.
